Queen Creek residents are about to experience a significant boost in wireless connectivity thanks to an innovative infrastructure project recently approved by local officials. The Town Council has given the green light to a new 65-foot wireless communication tower at the intersection of South Crismon and East Ocotillo roads. In a unanimous 6-0 vote on September 3rd, council members approved the project as part of the public consent agenda. The tower comes with an interesting aesthetic twist – it will be disguised as a tree, blending somewhat with the surrounding landscape while providing essential connectivity services.
The approval process moved forward without Mayor Julia Wheatley, who is currently on a leave of absence to focus on family matters. This telecommunications enhancement showcases Queen Creek’s commitment to expanding digital infrastructure as the community continues to grow. The camouflaged design reflects a thoughtful approach to balancing technological advancement with visual aesthetics, addressing a common concern in residential neighborhoods where traditional metal towers can be considered eyesores. The tree-like design aims to minimize visual impact while maximizing communication capabilities for area residents and businesses.

Young Design/Tilson Infrastructure will be establishing and operating the new wireless tower, bringing its telecommunications expertise to Queen Creek. The selected location places the tower approximately 1,200 feet southeast of the intersection of Crismon and Ocotillo roads, strategically positioned within the Ameripark RV Storage facility. This placement on a spacious 10-acre parcel provides ideal conditions for the tower’s operation while minimizing its proximity to residential homes, addressing both technical requirements and community concerns.
What makes this project particularly valuable for Queen Creek residents is the tower’s capacity to accommodate three different mobile carriers eventually. This multi-carrier capability means more residents will benefit regardless of their service provider, creating a more universally accessible improvement to local connectivity. As streaming services, remote work, and digital communication continue to dominate daily life, this infrastructure upgrade represents a significant quality-of-life enhancement for the growing community. The tower’s placement at an existing commercial facility also demonstrates thoughtful land use planning, utilizing available space rather than developing new areas.
